Indie Comics Creator Con 2025 was a blast. It reminded me of early SPX (Small Press Expo) days from the mid-90s to early 00s. Back when creators huddled after hours and drew with each other. Shared ideas and laughs. Were in it together. Big Ups to table mate Whitney Matheson, and show creator/organizers Matthew Sardo, Jamie Jones, and the IC3 crew. Big Ups to Eli Schwab and his Cosmic Lion crew. Big Ups to the Piskor family, Tom Scioli, Jim Rugg, Tony Wolf and everyone else I got to see and meet. It was fun to go back in time and eat a classic hamburger sandwich at Louis' Lunch.
Speaking of time travel hamburgers. Mid-40s and older? Don’t forget your regular colonoscopy check ups. Doc says I continue to have issues with Diverticulosis. I gotta eat more fiber. Otherwise, no polyps this time around. Do your doo-doo diligence.
Look out for a new two-part, New Brooklyn adjacent story featuring Aquaria, Serena, and Mako by Adam McGovern, Dave Kelly and Paolo Leandri, Dominic Regan and Stefano Pavo in Erik Larsen’s SAVAGE DRAGON #s 276 & 277. Here's a link to a preview and interview at The Comics Beat.
Last night, Vito Delsante and enjoyed an impromptu conversation with John Siuntres on the Word Balloon podcast. See/hear us HERE.
This week, Vito and I talked to cartoonist Rob Guillory, co-creator of Chew, and creator of Farmhand (plus, more) on the VITO x DINO podcast. Rob is someone I’ve been wanting to chat with ever since he started his YouTube channel a couple of years ago. See/hear our VxDxRob Guillory conversation HERE.

-and-
I’m a guest at Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase on April 26 & 27, 2025.
Let's pour out a little liquor to our man, Ed Piskor, who passed away a year ago today. I was one of the last people to talk to him. I’m not gonna get into his murder/suicide but I hope people learned from this tragedy. The only way I can honor Ed and every cartoonist who lived the comix life is to make more comix.
See you in the gutters—

I know I looked like I was fading at the end there, but I honestly could've talked to/with John all night.
