After writing, directing and editing my short film, “There Is No Try,” at The Manhattan Film Institute, MFI asked me and my Nightwork Studio partner, Whitney Matheson, to double-down and co-write, co-direct and edit another short film, starring Madeleine Morrell, Max Morrell, and Zachary Deakyne called “The Tip.”

Sequential Synergy: The Art of Comics explores the forms that comics can take and how they affect us. Cartoonists are not merely visual artists, but also writers, designers, directors, and most of all, acute observers of human behavior. Jurors Dean Haspiel and Whitney Matheson have juried the show as a means of broadening the thematic content and visual art forms traditionally exhibited in a gallery environment.

Thanks to comrade/writer, Warren Ellis, I got a whole bunch of new subscribers. Welcome! I’m a cartoonist, writer, playwright and emerging film director, recently known for creating and producing 4.5 seasons of the Ringo Award winning webcomic series, THE RED HOOK (the first two seasons were print published by Image Comics). I also created BILLY DOGMA, collaborated with Harvey Pekar and Jonathan Ames, and worked for Marvel, DC/Vertigo, Archie, Image, Webtoon, etc./etc. I’m also a Yaddo fellow and won an Emmy award for my work on HBO’s “Bored To Death.”
