Greetings. For the last month I was hunkered down in Spencer Trask’s den at Yaddo, the legendary artists/writers retreat in Saratoga Springs, NY, penciling ten pages of a Superman story for DC Comics, and co-writing a short film, among other things. Once again, I learned about new art, new people, and new ways to participate in the delicacies of difference. A retreat can be equally challenging, frustrating and nourishing. Every day can yield a profound range of feeling confident to feeling crushed. I mentioned to several residents, "When you feel like you're failing -- THAT'S when you know Yaddo is working in your favor."

Postponed by the pandemic for two and a half years — THE WAR OF WOO is finally debuting this Fall (Sept 29th - Oct 15th). Written by me and directed by Philip Cruise.

In THE WAR OF WOO, a Demon recruits a quartet of New Yorkers to help kidnap Satan in hopes of brokering a treaty with God to merge Heaven and Hell. Can a rebellious actor, a brazen assistant director and two best friends on the brink of breaking up ally long enough to alter the afterlife?

A PRELUDE TO THE WAR OF WOO is a cinematic teaser written by me, starring Seth Gilliam and Philip Cruise. Directed, edited and produced by Shannon Goldman of Super G Films.

The fifth issue of the 12-issue IMAGE! 30th Anniversary anthology came out last week — featuring the fifth installment of my 12-page Billy Dogma comic, “I will Break You But I Won’t Kill You Because I Need You.”

I’ll be wandering around New York Comicon a little bit this year and doing a panel with rap legend Darryl McDaniels for the debut of his new song and comic, ME AND MY MICROPHONE, featuring DMC, Chuck D, Ice-T, DJ Jazzy Jeff, produced by Bumpy Knuckles. The comic book was conceived and co-written by me with DMC, illustrated by N. Steven Harris, colored by Walt Barna, lettered by AndWorld Design, with a cover by artist Dave Proch.
