Dean, I have to ask it! Where and when was chest face born? Is it your own chest, talking in your Brooklyn mirror, in the wee hours? Will there be a Mrs. chest face?
I laugh , and smile when I see chest face, and I have no idea why. You are a gift that keeps on growing, exploring, creating, and bringing pride to your craft.
Who is your favorite anime-short film, ? I love the one called UP.; IT CAN BEaddictive AS ALL HECK, BUT WORTH THE TIME SPENT. Jennifer/NYC/that woman:>)
Hi, Jennifer -- I've done a few recent podcast interviews where I'm asked about the origin of CHEST FACE. If you get a chance to listen...you'll discover my answers. Don't forget to peruse the campaign, too. See if any of the rewards tickle your fancy.
Thanks for recognizing my passion and determination. Autonomy is no easy path to carve. Too many sacrifices. Honestly don't know how much longer I can survive as a freelancer.
I don't watch a lot of modern animation but I do enjoy most of the Pixar movies. UP is a great one.
Thank you for your reply! Your honesty, and depth landed on my mind , very welcomed.
To say that a cartoonist, in this day of digital, is surviving , on any level, is astounding, impressive, and speaks to your devoted following, and very cool new patrons.
It feels like being in a very cool club, with a big door price....and with that door price, I assume is a road or a back-path, not littered with other peoples trash.
The ingenuity of chest face is ...wow, I am drawn to the underdog-hero, being one myself, in my real life. I have a stray dog syndrome of sorts, self diagnosed, savior complex, squiring the most amazing cast of characters, in my people and animal archive, of my heart, my life, now ...many or most of these angels live in my scrapbooks, and hard-copy albums.
Most of what I deep dive research, are topics that most only speak of in hushed tones, in dimmed lighting, wondering what the neighbor through the wall hears, and thinks of it!!!!!
I saw the video about chest face, or interview, and thanks for that.
The short cartoon-type youtube flix are very handcrafted, small, short, and all animation, no dialogue from the characters. Some clay-mation, but they come from all over the creative map, and as much as I enjoy them, there is a solid draw , to the solid craft of hard-copy cartooning.
It is not easy to understand, but, who cares, right?
I hope this finds you optimistic about the life of all of your amazing, and courageous work, Dean.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.
